Ingredients
  

Meat and Beans
  • 1 lb Ground Beef 85% lean
  • 1 can Kidney Beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can Pinto Beans drained and rinsed
Vegetables
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
Liquids and Sauces
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes with juice
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
Spices
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Method
 

Prepare Ingredients
  1. Chop the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic.
Cook Meat
  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
Add Vegetables
  1. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Combine Ingredients
  1. Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, kidney beans, and pinto beans.
Season the Chili
  1. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
Simmer
  1. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve
  1. Serve hot, garnished with cheese or sour cream if desired.
