Preparation
- Preheat the Traeger smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- In a bowl, mix together all the rub ingredients until well combined.
- Generously apply the rub to the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Smoking
- Place the brisket on the grill grates, fat side up, and add the hickory wood pellets to the hopper.
- Smoke the brisket for about 5 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- Wrap the brisket in aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Serving
- Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
