Method
 

Making the Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the strawberries to break down.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a clean bottle or jar, discarding the solids.
  6. Let the syrup cool completely before sealing and storing in the refrigerator.
