Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar divided
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup of sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat the strawberries evenly.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour the strawberry mixture into a greased baking dish. Spoon the topping mixture over the strawberries, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Serve
  1. Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream.
