Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To prevent browning.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Toss to coat the apples evenly.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture to a greased baking dish.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  2. Spread the topping evenly over the apple filling in the baking dish.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
  2. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
