Freezer Jam

A quick and easy method to make delicious fruit jam that can be stored in the freezer for later use.

Ingredients
  

Fruit Mixture
  • 2 cups fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, or peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on fruit sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Pectin
  • 1 package fruit pectin such as Sure-Jell or Ball

Method
 

Prepare the Fruit
  1. Wash and hull the fresh fruit. Mash the fruit in a mixing bowl using a fork or potato masher until desired consistency is reached.
Mix Ingredients
  1. Add the granulated sugar and lemon juice to the mashed fruit. Stir well and let sit for 10 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve.
Add Pectin
  1. Stir in the fruit pectin until fully dissolved. Mix for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
Transfer to Containers
  1. Pour the jam mixture into freezer-safe containers, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top for expansion. Seal tightly.
Freeze
  1. Label the containers with the date and type of fruit. Place them in the freezer for up to 1 year.

Notes
