Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 1 cup sliced apples preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 cup orange slices fresh or dried
  • 1 cup cranberries fresh or frozen
Spices
  • 2 sticks cinnamon whole
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon whole allspice
  • 1 tablespoon nutmeg freshly grated
Liquid
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup apple cider for added flavor

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Slice the apples and oranges, and measure out the cranberries.
  2. Gather all spices and liquids.
Combine and Simmer
  1. In a saucepan, combine water, apple cider, sliced fruits, and spices.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for at least 2 hours.
  3. Add more water as needed to keep the mixture from drying out.
Serve
  1. Once the aroma fills your home, serve the simmer pot on the stove or transfer to a heat-safe bowl.
