Ingredients
  

Seafood
  • 1 pound fresh fish (such as snapper or tilapia) cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup shrimp peeled and deveined
Citrus Marinade
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice about 8-10 limes
  • 1 medium red onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium jalapeño seeded and minced
  • 1 bunch cilantro chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Seafood
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed fish and shrimp.
Make the Marinade
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together the lime juice, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, salt, and black pepper.
Combine and Marinate
  1. Pour the marinade over the seafood and mix gently to coat.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, allowing the seafood to 'cook' in the citrus juice.
Serve
  1. Serve chilled in a serving dish, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.

Notes

Ceviche is best served fresh. Adjust the level of spice by adding more or less jalapeño according to your preference.
