Ingredients
  

Pasta and Proteins
  • 8 oz Fettuccine pasta or any pasta of choice
  • 1 lb Andouille sausage sliced
  • 1 lb Shrimp peeled and deveined
Vegetables
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 medium Bell pepper chopped
  • 2 stalks Celery chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
Spices and Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black pepper to taste
Liquids
  • 4 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream optional for creaminess
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Green onions chopped, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp Parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Base
  1. In a large pot, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the sliced Andouille sausage and cook until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
Adding Pasta and Liquids
  1. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Stir in the fettuccine pasta and reduce heat to a simmer.
Finishing Touches
  1. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is al dente.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. If using, stir in the heavy cream for added richness.
  4. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and parsley.
